Keep It Alive

Hello all headbangers! Janto here, and just like all of you, I'm an avid fan of extreme metal & have been a fan for many years. Throughout the years, I've indulge in many things underground, be it tape-trading, making fanzine, playing bands, doing the mailorder distributions, to helping out organising gigs. There are things that I still do till today, but there are some things that couldn't be done as it won't make any sense nowadays. The latter part is mostly the tape-trading activities. Nowadays, you can see a lot of music bogging & as far as I'm concerned, I sees it as a modern day tape-trading, and it's so vast and limitless. You could find almost EVERYTHING that could be considered as highly sought Out Of Print materials, or even a freakin rare rehearsals! Well, that is awesome isn't it?

Tape-trading is the most common way to get around discovering new bands & new music back in the early 90s. You could see bands telling you to send in a blank tape with a decent return postage & what better way to get in touch directly with the band other than that way? That is the coolest thing could ever happened & being a zine editor myself, that is the ultimate editor's wet dream, lol! From just the first correspondence, it might took off to a better friendship later on for years and surprisingly, these band members would be your greatest tape-trading pal. Isn't that just awe inspiring? Plus, you got the chance to meet other tape-traders that happens to be another zine editor or people who wrote to you. Nowadays, this is a long gone activities only to be revived when walking down the nostalgic memory lane. So, I see the opportunity to use the modern day utilities as a tool similar to the tape-trading method. If you could bumped into any kids nowadays and ask about what did he get from his trading pal recently, he/she might give you a blunt stare and ask "what tape-trading, what are you talking about man? I only got an iPod, so you got anything new to fill me up?"

Allright then kiddo, so here's the deal. Just take your time around the World Wide Web checking out the bands, and while you're at it, try to get a physical copy of the material. This way you're helping the band making a decent living out of their music, and they can produce more out of it in later time. I don't support illegal music piracy, so that's why I'll stick to my principal of uploading only 2(two) full tracks from a full length album, or several full tracks from selected discography. As far as the demo/single/EP/Mlp, I will put them up in its entirety because they served as a promotional tool in the first place, and I hate it will all my guts seeing this Out Of Prints materials being put up in e-fukkin-Bay for a ridiculous price! That sucks big time man. Yes it is RARE coz it might have a press run of 66 copies(duh!) worldwide, so just consider yourself a lucky souls to be able owning a copy of it. Don't fukkin brag it you dumb fukks! To justified this, the OOP meterials would be up for grab for everyone to take a listen. I don't give a damn about the format though as somebody might look at it, I only give a FUKKING flying FUKK about the contents IN it, which is the music itself! The singles/EP materials mostly didn't make it into the full album, but if they do, most of the time they're a re-recorded version. So you don't even know how these Extended tracks would sounds like in its original form. And this is where I come to do the job, to keep it fukkin' alive! Go and get it done kids!
Salute \m/
